Concealed Carry...ALL the time?

Okay, so do you guys keep a holster on your belt when you are in the house, doing chores around the house, washing the car, socializing with your next door neighbor, etc.?

But the question remains....

as some have stated above, they keep their small pistol In their pocket probably using a pocket holster so it doesn't print. I think most folks in shorts and t-shirt do not carry holsters on their hip around the house. I carry 99% of the time and I don't use a hip holster.

The only time I don't have a gun on me is when I'm in the shower, in bed, or at the gym. The only place I don't have one near me is at the gym. I am looking for an ultra deep concealment gun for that though.

I feel naked without it now.

I didn't carry 100% of the time for a long time until recently.

I found a holster I really really like (thrasherfox) and now I carry all the damn time.

A J frame and a speed strip is what I have on me pretty all the time. It fits in my front pocket with a pocket holster.

Your question about carrying around the house while doing chores, etc? No, not really. It cracks me up reading the guys who post about always having a gun on them when at home, irrespective of what they are doing whether it's watching "24" or making mac and cheese. What kind of neighborhoods do these guys live in? Those are usually guys who can't carry when out in public so all those cool holsters have to be used somewhere. My one exception around the house is if I'm working in the garage or driveway and the garage door is open. It's a pretty vulnerable place to be and the garage door is the biggest entrance right into your house so... I'll have a gun on me or stashed nearby.

I carry ALWAYS when in public. Like was posted earlier, it's better to have and not need than need and not have. I put it this way to people who can't relate to carrying a gun all the time: You pay thousands year after year for car/house insurance and you might never make a claim but you're sure glad you have it if your house ever burns down.

I guess I should have stated the question in this way instead of "Do you carry ALL the time." Sorry for the confusion.

I use a clip on Davis Leather IWB holster for my Glock 26 or 19 so it's easy to remove it along with the Glock and then replace it in my waistband each time I leave the house. I carry each and every day so it's become a habit.

The Davis leather holster has a stiff steel reinforcement which allows the holster to remain open even after you draw the pistol, thus allowing easy re-holstering. This is a critical difference in most IWB holsters. The ability to preform a one handed re-holster is a must.

Holster each time. I make my own. Just finished another one using scraps from another project... It's still rough.

I carry whenever possible in public as most of the element I used to deal with professionally tend to live in the county that I now reside in. Sometimes I carry in an OWB belt holster, sometimes in an IWB holster, once in a while in a shoulder rig (not often these days) and sometimes using other carry methods when those won't work. The season, mode of dress and occasion determine which mode I use. No pocket carry or "Mexican" carry as I prefer that firearms be secure until I draw them.

Not LEO. ccw but can't carry at work. home and everywhere else always carry though, have a ton of holsters but lately mostly carry kahr p380 in desantis super fly in pocket with one extra mag.

I carry every where I go (Glock 26 or Kahr CW9). I always have at least the Ruger LCP in my pocket whenever I cut the grass or wash my car in my front yard.

Ahhh, Now the question is getting answered. Thanks guys. Speaking of the "Open Garage" part...my buddy was working in his garage one day and looked towards the street and saw a Pit Bull staring back at him. The dog immediately charged him. Luckily, he had his pistol with him and he is an excellent shot...one shot, one kill. He was home alone and it was during the afternoon so most people were at work. Maybe saved his life. I was working in my garage at night years ago in another city when all of a sudden, a man waked up my driveway. He was so quiet and I was working on something that I didn't realize he was there until he was almost up to the edge of the door. He asked for directions and was harmless but it still struck a cord with me.

I carry 100% of the time except when at the gym. J frame in .357, clipdraw.
Wife the same. P3AT. Pocket holster.
Both leo. Both have high cockroach contact positions and have been approached numerous times off duty. We are both laid back at work and all the contacts have been non aggressive, but all it takes is one time to turn out badly.

I agree, so what do you do? Do you carry a holster on your belt at all times in case you go out? Or do you put on the holster and gun everytime your wife asks you to go to the store up the block for some milk, bread or butter?

CCW is supposed to be comforting, not comfortable. That said, I have a Glock 30 in a iwb holster 24/7 if I don't have a sam browne on and you really do not notice it compared to pocket carry, etc. It conceals under a loose t-shirt. I notice the badge and extra magazine in my pocket more.

If I lost my spare tire I could carry much more comfortably.
