Maricopa County Sheriff in Arizona lost a deputy last night on a burglary in progress call. I've never seen this many lost so soon in a year.

Anyone know of the conditions of the other officers that were shot? I hope they have fully recovered or the recovery is going well.

I guess welfares more important than officer safety.

Sad to hear every one of these stories.

Two officers have been released from the hospital. The other three are still in the hospital, with the most serious/critical (head and abdomen wounds) in a medically induced coma. More info in the local paper.

It almost seems like we are gravitating towards violence on law enforcement as we saw in the 1970's. It has been a rough past two years and 2012 hasn't started off on the right foot.

To our fallen of 2012, We now have your watch and keep the gates of Vahalla open for us.
