Six officers were shot and one is dead, after a anti-drug team moved in to serve a warrant in Ogden, Utah. The five wounded officers are in serious to critical condition:

I read about this last night. I've been hearing that Ogden has become a major meth den.

A quick search for news articles with "Ogden and meth" yields a lot of relatively recent articles.

That stuff is evil and becoming more pervasive across the country. No amount of legalization would ever solve for the behavior it spawns.

Prayers for the officer lost and his family, and best wishes for a speedy recovery out to the wounded.

Truly. I recall speaking to NPS Rangers decades ago who were saying DEA was handing them M-16s and sending them into underground meth labs in the desert with the warning, "Do NOT shoot anything down there!"

They thought they were going to be looking for forest fires...

Meth is a nightmare in this country. Evil indeed.
