Yep, I still have my original border patrol style thumb snap holster for my Glock 22.

That seems like a very old standard that no one has gotten around to updating yet. Breakfront holsters and semi-automatic pistols are not necessarily a good combination IMO. I'm kind of wondering what their deal is with no thumb snap?

The Safariland line is always going to be good gear. The 6285 is a good choice that would serve well. And, FWIW, as a lower riding holster it is something of a modern iteration of the classic "Border Patrol" design. Nothing wrong with that.

I agree. BTW, what academy are you attending that seems to be that behind the times? One word of advice, if on the line they start teaching you to pocket brass, RUN!

Pocketing brass is one thing, if they teach you some techniques to learn'em young'uns sum manners with your blackjack, then I would ask for a refund.

(After keeping the blackjack, of course)

ALS is the only way to go now, IMHO. I've used a Serpa and a 6280...ALS is the bee's knees right now.

Just googled this. Best part is the pic with the dep holding one looks just like an SD Sheriff car in the background, haha. Hard to tell since so many departments use silver 7-point stars.

There are a few things that aren't 12020 and allowed here in CA... like a tee shirt or a hat... <sigh>

Although I hear you can't have a hat with more than 10 adjustment snaps on the back of the head band or else it's considered a high capacity adjustment hat and the tee shirt must not have sleeves over 10 inches or else it's an assault tee shirt and you have to get a sleeve button which only lets you use the first 10 inches of sleeve.

I thought the standard issue for the 92F with you guys is the 290 or some other special construction with the forward cant?
