Another vote for Gorilla glue, although the velcro idea may work.Comment

Reserves don't need flats. Heck, they don't even need to take their uniform badge home. They should be required to check out their duty badge and then return it at the end of the tour.

In any event, can they give you a loaner while they send your badge in for repair? That's what happens with ours. We turn in our current one and use a loaner for a few weeks.I like guns

A bit OT, but it is about a flat badge.
Decades ago of course.
, I was off duty from the jail. I drove over to the then SEB station behind ELA station to meet one of the deputies I knew. He had invited me to ride with him and his partner for a shift.
As soon as I met him, they got a P211N call at a nearby liquor store. I jumped in the back seat and we were off Code 3. We got to the store just as the described vehicle was peeling out from the front of the store.
They stop the car and we are all pointing guns at the possible suspect. Being in civie clothing, I held my wallet containing my flat badge in my weak hand.
After it was determined it was not a 211 or any crime and the guy left, I happen to glance at my wallet and noticed the badge was no longer there.
I looked at my feet and saw it lying in the grass in front of me.
I quickly put it back in my wallet, but not quick enough as the SEB guys saw the whole thing.
I stopped at personnel the next day and they glued it back in with the glue they used for it.
The deputies razzed me for the rest of the shift.

I have had great results with 3M auto body tape. It is very strong and is slightly pliable.
Looks similar to this, but you can buy it in varying degrees of strength:
