    Help with flat badge

My flat badge fell out of the leather wallet. Anyone know what they use to glue those things in? Our personnel dept. doesn't.

My first thought would be any type of glue that says it will bond metal, and leather found at home depot or lowes,or local hardware store?

Rubber cement, available at Walmart, staples, office depot, etc. Stays flexible and still holds.

Rubber cement would probably work. Apply it to both surfaces and let it dry to tacky (Sticky to touch, but none comes off on your finger) and then press both surfaces together.

Thanks, guys. I'll give the rubber cement a try.

Or you can try Velcro. That's what I use. I can alternate the flat badge from the wallet to the necklace. Buy a couple strips at the 99 cent store.

Try "household goop," recommended by: http://www.thistothat.com/cgi-bin/gl...l&that=Leather.

I'd take it to the next level and get Loctite Contact Cement. It's like industrial rubber cement.

My recommended fix, is to find the strongest bond for the cheapest at Tap Plastics. I used to use it to bond parts on electric guitars and it never failed me. Strongest and cheapest I found................ Here's a link, good luck.............................

Edit: always remember to scratch up both surfaces to be bonded and you would never get them apart. Good Luck!

What I got from E-R for my flat badge when I ordered wallets from them was 3M self-adhesive double stick circles about 1.5" in diameter. It's really thin but sticky as heck. I think it works best for a nice flat backing and smooth leather to stick it too.

Assuming this is a flat badge made by Sunbadge in Ontario - If you contact them, they'll repair for free - at least in my experience.

I've stopped in and had badges shipped to them with no issues.

Give them a call (or figure out who the manuf is and contact them directly - insignia/logo on back typically)
