So many loop holes with AB 109... Can a probation officers violate or send back parolees to the state prison? Do they even have authority to violate parolees on parole violations only? Answer is "Not yet" So these thugs will be running around thinking their untouchable unless they are charged with an open chharge. According to AB 109, state is only looking at parolee's commitment offense instead of their entire criminal history. For example, if a parolee has a murder 2nd on his jacket and commits a petty theft. Next time he gets release, he will be considered a "low level/non-violent offender" and will be supervised by county probation officers. Let me remind you that most of probation officers are not armed. AB 109 creats jobs for probation department but if I'm a probation officer, I would not feel comfortable supervising these hard core criminals without a sidearm, partner, etc. For patrol officers, you guys will see a hike in crime rate in your area. Probation officers can't violate these thugs and parole will not do anything because they belong to probation department. until they sort out all the loop holes in AB109, it will be a disaster for all of us except parolees.

This law is going to work out real well for the unarmed probation officers and the average citizens. Felons running amok. And release murders and sex offenders as low-risk that is absolutely nuts. Unfortunately we'll either see citizens or law enforcement officers getting hurt over this.

I've got friends at DOJ and their last days are on 12/31/2011. These cuts to DOJ and Parole Agents has to be a sorry let down for them. Dedicating your life to following the law and risking your life and now laid off... I know most of my friends at DOJ or Parole came from other Cop jobs or LEO ones.

Guess the people complaining about the pensions and high-pay got their wishes. Jerry Brown listened and now we have Cops without jobs.
