    I think there is an exception to the "WEP". You have to work work/put in 20 or 30 years worth of Social Security (SS) quarters. Then you can collect your retirement plus full SS benefits/pay.

    A LEO from my old agency is doing just that. Even he was surprised.

      Thanks for your service.

      That's why I'm not planning on working now that I'm retired. I only had 32 quarters before going to work for the county, where I didn't pay into social security for 32 years.

      My retirement program would reduce my pension by whatever amount of social security I'd get, so why go thru all the headaches.

        It's great that you put in money, get your "account" number (SSN), and they decide that you don't "NEED" your own money that you have been putting in because other people who didn't put in a dime need it more than you.

        When it was changed so that recent immigrants of retirement age can qualify for SSI even though they didn't put in 1 dime... I knew it was over at that point. The government just openly declared that it's their money to do as they wish, especially to buy votes.
