    Dodge Charger AWD

I know I am very late to these, but they are sweet!

My supervisor had a FTY yesterday... While en route to back, I passed a charger in the snow and thought to myself that I would be pulling it out of the snow bank later.

After we finished the stop, I saw her approaching, so I stopped her and asked her to put chains on, and we would help. Really smugly, she asked why. I looked at her funny, since I then recognized her and knew she should know better. She then told me it was AWD. My sup and look at each other confused, and she showed us.

So we then told her we needed to commandeer her vehicle for testing purposes!

Needless to say, I now want one!

I agree, Its well worth the extra money for these. They only make the 2011 AWD's in RTs and up, but thats a good thing I guess. Who wants a V6 AWD?

I love the Charger patrol cars. Why didn't they have those bad boys when I humping the streets? All we had was Caprices and Crown Vics. Nice cars if you are taking your family out to dinner.

My sup, who happens to be the undersheriff, said he was going to push the sheriff hard when need a new vehicle. We have 07 and 08 expeditions, which are great rigs, but we could use a new sedan or two.

I wish the Charger was around when I was in patrol also, but I wouldn't complain about the ones you had. I hired on in 1976 and you can't believe some of the wonderful cars we had.

The best one was a 1970 something AMC Hornet 4 cylinder. This was a patrol vehicle for the public parking lot at the jail; not really a true patrol vehicle. We also would deliver the mail to the Hall of Justice in L.A. It was unable to make it up a slightly sloped driveway at HOJJ with two deputies in it. I had to go to the other entrance with the flat driveway. Embarrassing, as people were laughing at us.

The new Chevy police packagecars that are coming out are WAYYYYY better than the Dodge! More power, better handling, more interior room!

The Pontiac G8 platform re-bodied and badged as the Caprice? Those do look real nice, LS6 powerplant, Zeta chassis suspension and all. A shame that GM opted not to move that car to another brand, the G8 GXPs are awesome sedans, especially with the 6 speed manual. Have to wait for department auctions to get the Caprice now.

Chargers interior is way to small. I actually like the crown vic's. They are tough sob's.

Are you kidding me! Crown Vics Suck! Underpowered, overstear, poor suspension!

Wait until you guys drive the new Chevy. It feels like you are driving a high tech sports car with tons of interior space and plenty of trunk space for gear. It will smoke a 5.0 liter Mustang, handles like a BMW m5, suspension has little sway, steering is tight, has floor console shifter. It is a true Pursuit vehicle, unlike the Crown Vic. The CV is the most gutless police car I have ever driven. Great for Highway Patrol!

Got to love them unibody Chargers. Id stick with a full framed car. The crown vic may have been a boat but it can take a hit.

I've got an '07 V6 (3.6L) AWD and the thing is surprisingly gutsy! 55-80 will throw your head back! I would LOVE one with more engine, but I've got no complaints... it's a pretty sweet car!

Lol. Retired always has great stories.

I am laughing here just picturing two uniformed cops with 70s hair and mustaches trying to make it up a steep driveway.
