    Another facebook issue.

As if we needed another reason to get rid of facebook or any other social networking site.

My favorite is still the defense attorney who tried to use a mood status of "devious" as a basis for a perjury accusation against a Police Officer.

    so what?
Yeah maybe he should not have said that, because it made him look bad. But he did his job right, he stopped the purp from shooting him and by-standers.

I gotta admit, I said some dumb things on facebook before without realizing it. I didn't blame Facebook.

You can't say that it's facebook's fault because it's every person's responsibility to watch what they say on that website. It will be same as saying "Guns kill people".

    It's just ignorant. No offense.

I wouldn't blame it on Facebook... The cop wasn't FORCED to change his status or his profile with that... It's the moron's own damn fault for being so unprofessional, and trying to show off to people that he was hardcore enough to take a life.

Why the hell would he say that?

Cops are by no means human waste disposal.

So much for innocent until proven guilty. It most definitely shows his mindset to 'suspects' SUSPECTED of a crime. This officer is not the judge, and if he doesn't think he is either, he should of never posted that stupid comment.

BTW, this is not a comment on the shooting the officer was involved in.

This is just another reminder to be mindful of what you post on the internet. It NEVER goes away and it could come back to bite you in the a** when you least expect it. I try very hard to treat posting the same way I do e-mail, memo's, texts, ect., as a permeant record.

I don't agree with what he wrote.

However, I do agree with 1A rights.

Don't have Facebook or any other "social" site. Don't need it. If you're my friend from way back then and you are not in contact with me, it's because I meant for it to be that way.

Goddamn! I think what the guy wrote on facebook was not too smart to post, but lets face it, probably coincidental that the guy had a shooting. He should be hailed as a hero for shooting and stopping the suspect threat! If the shooting was good, then that nullifies the facebook statement. Two different incidents unrelated!

That would be like me saying to someone I know, "I wish that Ahole was dead" Then the next day the AHOLE breaks into my house and pulls a gun, so I shoot and kill him! Will my actions be determined by the previous day statement??? Stupid!

As a matter of fact that is exactly what does happen. Your actions may not be determined by the statement but you will be looked at very closely. You are a LEO and as such should know this better than the average person. Stupid, yes it is but it is reality.

Sounded like he wrote it AFTER the incident, which would be more plausible to me. Lots of folks deal with death or other horrific scenes with humor (or attempted humor in this case) to cover or mask their true emotional state. Another real world example would be paramedics joking about going out for speghetti after a really messy traffic accident. Happens a lot.

The problem isn't facebook it's people posting on facebook without considering possible reprecussions.

I got a new one for you guys and gals, I erased my FB page and waited. then tried to look my self up. To my surprise (not really) it was gone but instead found another website (http://www.mylife.com/) that had shown that it found me and the icon that was in the profile was one of my FB pictures. I did not pay $ to view it it was just there for everyone to see. I then looked up there number & address and they are here in Santa Monica (MyLife.com
                              2118 Wilshire Box 1008
Santa Monica, CA 90403-5784) (1-888-704-1900 between the hours of 6am - 9pm Monday - Friday) but again to my surprise (not really) the address is to a po box and the number is a automated system and no one ever answers (hung up 15min into it)

So just remember there is (skid marks) of your info every time your there (net).
