CDC Peace Officers (Corrections) are only have full peace officer status while on duty. The only exception is the Fugitive Apprehension Team and Special Investigations Unit. They are full status peace officers 24/7. CDC Correctional Officers may carry a concealed weapon off duty per 830.5, but they are only peace officers while in the performance of thier duties.

Most corrections officers for cities and counties are only peace officers while on duty.
