I see you're a bit conflicted as to her deserving to be treated as a criminal. Yet in the next breath you say she didn't deserve to be treated as a criminal????

My point I'm making is, the girl at no point to the officer posed a threat right? so this is why myself and the state agree that the officer used excessive force. Plain and simple, wow the bus driver got pushed?? Everything gets hyped up when Mr. Sheriff comes to town and all of a sudden for no reason the girl gets tossed around like a rag doll and gets threatened (while being pinned down by the officer) that he's going to use his tazer gun on her. Wow dude find some real criminals to play the stupid game of justifying excessive force! See just because it makes all officers look bad you "guys" all get to flustered, instead of pointing out the bad cops or cops who abuse the system, and say "Hey that guy was wrong and should be held accountable". That would be the right attitude to have. With that said I agree lawyers and bad parents should all rot in hell! I'm not a cop hater, just hate it when a bad "individual" abuses his authority. Agian I'm not a cop hater, I don't shoot my guns sideways, nor do I have one single criminal record. I abide by the law except for speeding every now and then...

superbikearmen, I'm not an LEO so I'm not trying to wash things over to make cops look good in general? I'm just a regular Joe citizen like you. All I'm saying is I don't believe this cop was that far off the grid in handling this delinquent that he needed to be fired. Perhaps a reprimand, but not fired IMO.
Too many kids get handled with (pardon the unintended pun) kid gloves when they get out of hand. And it's my opinion that teachers and cops should be allowed to scare the heck out of kids getting out of line and maybe even smack their backsides when needed.
But everyone's so afraid of lawyers and their frivolous lawsuits these days that even good parents are afraid to spank their kids when they need it.

That's fine you're entitled to your opinion and its understood. And in a vague way I will agree to a point with you. But only if that "minor" had she pushed the officer or showed a threat to the officer, then its free game.

On another note about law suits, I don't believe the city/county/department should be held accountable for any wrong doings of an officer (you're right). Why? The city/county/department has their own code of law and rules for conduct and train their employees to do their job correctly. Now if these jobs are not carried out correctly or legally the person/officer should be held accountable unless it had something to do directly with the department that is in question. This would stop officers from excessive force and would force them to do the right thing. Hey if I do something wrong/fraudulent in my business I go to jail, I go out of business and have to pay fines. Talk about double standards, I don't get a pension, I don't get leave of absence, don't get health care, I just plain and simple go under!
