Wish prompt recovery to Deputy Ahmed. Thanks for the service he is doing with his department, and thanks for taking care of that public menace.Comment

Get well soon, Brother Deputy!
A buddy of mine e-mailed me a copy of the SCC radio transmissions of the incident. Chilling...
I've been retired for some time now and was hoping a current Deputy could tell me what SRC was referring to when the RTO asked one of the ELA units if he was/is "GSD"? I don't recall that one.Comment

Just wanted to give a status update on Deputy Ahmed. My facility just got briefed yesterday. He is stable, but still in serious condition. The condition of his eye is still unnown. He needs several more surgeries in the near future. Deputies are currently standing watch over him, 24 hours a day.
A large hotel has footed the bill for his family to stay at, so they may be closer to their son. I wish I could name it, but for obvious reasons, I can't. But thank you to them. And a special thank you to Anaheim PD. They pretty much shut down the roads so that Deputy Ahmed's family could be rolled to the awaiting helicopter.
And a very special "F@ck You!" to the criminal street gang "The Lott". We'll be seeing you soon.

Originally posted by E Pluribus UnumDuring Y2K my neighbor and I were talking and he said he had a basement full of water and canned food. He asked if I had stocked up and I said that I had. I told him I bought a 12 guage shotgun, a .308 rifle and several bricks of .22 ammo.
He is an anti-gun guy and he said. "Well, you can't eat ammunition". I replied with "When I'm starving to death with a case of ammunition, who's door do you think I am going to knock on?"Comment

And, IMO, ELA did an outstanding job of coordinating/responding to that incident!
