Pulled over but was never told why

So I work at a bar locally and I usually take home a friend/patron after he has been drinking as he only lives about a mile from the bar. So we get in my truck and I pull out of the parking area, its not a parking lot it is just a little area we park at across the st from our bar that is actually in front of a ship yard. So we get to the first light and make a RH turn, no one behind me still, then the RH turn goes a little bit and swings left and then you come up to a stop sign. As I am pulling up to the stop sign there is a car in front of me that obeys the stop sign and I am behind him, right before I pull up I see headlights behind me and I notice it is a LEO. So I then pull up the sign, wait and make a right, not quite sure if I had my blinker on or not. As I turn right I see him follow me and then turn his lights on, so I pull over to a small parking lot and then turn off my truck and lights, pull the keys out of the ignition and put them on my dash board. The officer comes up to my window and asks what I am/have been doing. I say I am taking my buddy home and that I work at the bar down the street and I point to my work shirt. He then asks if I have anything illegal in my truck and I say no. He asks for ID and I give him my license, he look sit over for a few seconds and asks where my passenger lives. He says right over there and points/names the area, which is like 200 ft away. He says ok have a good night. It went smoothly overall, but he never said why he pulled me over and I am not aware of anything wrong mechanically with my truck. So was it ok for him to just randomly pull me over with out cause? Maybe my NRA and Infidel sticker made him think I was a nut job?

You didn't ask lol. I would always ask why I was pulled over first.

Yeah I know I should have, just wondering if any LEO's can point to why he maybe pulled me over.

He didn't "randomly" pull you over. He SPECIFICALLY pulled you over. How do you know he didn't have "reasonable suspicsion" to pull you over? You didn't ask him and he didn't tell you. There is no law for a cop not telling you why he pulled you over. Yes, he SHOULD tell you why, but again, there is no law requiring it.

You didn't get a ticket. Obviously he didn't feel the need to take his detention any further, so he let you go. What are you complaining about???

Fishing for 502's (DUI). Especially in Newport after the bar's let out. I have been pulled over around there before late at night. My front window's are tinted so that was his PC. He said, " your front windows are tinted pretty dark." I said, "ummmm, yes they are." He asked if I was on probation and that was it. Only took him a second or so to see I was sober. The entire contact was less than a minute. Cop was professional.

Cop likely used a minor vehicle code violation to make the stop. You said you may not have used your turn signal.

You can't pull someone over for this you need more such as driving behavior or an equipment violation. You should have asked.

90 plus % of the time the first words out of my mouth are a greeting, followed by I am Sgt *** with the Sheriff's Dept. and the reason I stopped you is...
Then I might have mentioned what a nice Infidel sticker you had.

In AZ we normally issue a written warning or repair order (with no fine associated) if we do not cite the violator. This way we document the reason for all of our stops.

Seriously? I wasn't complaining, just seeing if any LEO's here could point it out, I didn't ask the LEO because it was still 1:30am and I was on the clock. I just wanted to get back to work as quickly as possible and yes I am almost 100%+ he was just fishing for DUI's.
