In general, why does law enforcement favor the EOTech holo sights while the military favors the Aimpoint? I know the military loves other sights too but I am just focusing on these 2 types of sights and what logic drives their choices? I noticed the military likes to use EOTech sights on some machine guns but the bulk of soldiers are issued some kind of red dot.
I ask this because I know EOTech makes the bulk of its profits from Law Enforcement agencies and was just wondering why this is? Usually LE adopts military trends but why not the Aimpoint/trijicon trend?
Is it the closer ranges cops often engage bad guys?
Is it budget?
What do you guys think?
