mg46, I'm sorry if I was not being clear. Initially I was responding to a post you had replied to where the poster had said "bla bla bla...AFTER the papers are returned and then the PO starts asking questions". My feeling is that is generally the point that they are fishing for something.

I have my ticket or warning and all my paperwork back. I am or should be free to go. The reason I was stopped has been handled. I DO NOT need to answer any further questions. Quite frankly I don't need to answer any questions at the begining of the stop. My liscence and other papers should answer any questions reguarding the traffic stop.

You can pile on as many tickets as you wish for me not acting as you Think I should, But if there is ANY law that says I must speak to you during a stop please cite it or you are the one who is giving false info.

Nope. When I detain a passenger in a car, I am not enforcing any vehicle codes with that person, unless they don't have their seatbelt on, possess an open container, marijuana etc. If they are just sitting in a car, clean as a whistle, I am not enforcing any vehicle codes with them, so 31 VC doesn't apply.

As far as the games, I figure the officer is always gonna win that one.

As far as your second comment, you are probably right . . . there is no easy answer on that one. I don't mind shooting the breeze once I know that our "business" is concluded. Otherwise, it is hard to shoot the breeze when I am being investigated.
