Handicapped parking: Pulled into the local 7-11 and wanna be gangster left his Donk running, music blaring while he went in to get some refreshments. Apparantly, for some people, it's ok for them to park there since they'll only be in the store for "a minute."Deputy Vu Nguyen #1427 EOW 12/19/07

I'm on my itouch so if it wasn't for the OP, I wouldn't know this was the LEO forum. That might explain a couple of the other posts in this thread.
Anyway, mine is tossing cigarettes out of the window.....and I know the misd. H&S section....Strike Hold!

Mine was the disabled parking spots; I gave plenty of warnings for other violations, but never for that. Due to numerous injuries/surgeries on the job, I had a temporary placard a few times and often saw people without placards parking in the disabled spot, preventing me and others from parking in one.Comment

i think the disabled parking spot is pretty universal with cops.
as a pet peeve, my personal one is no front license plate...especially on corvettes...because the journey is the worthier part...The Shepherd's TaleComment

For me it was littering and handicapped parkers. In addition 4000 (a) violations on expensive cars. Pretty much everything else was subject to "negotiation".
Although in the last few years of my career I noticed more and more vehicles with dark modified tail lamps. What on earth would make it desirable to paint a black covering on your tail lights so the reflectors will not work?? Usually the vehicle was black in color to begin with so at night it was already difficult to see if it was parked on a dark street.
I wrote quite a few "modified lights" citations. The court did not treat them as "fix it tickets" because it was a wanton act to purposely modify the lights expressly so it would make it harder to see the vehicle.
We did have one T/C due to this issue. A driver clipped the rear of a parked vehicle which had these modified lights. The driver said he did not see the parked vehicle until just before impact.
The owner of the parked vehicle was obviously mad, and could not understand how painting his lights, and thus making his rear red reflectors worthless was a contributing factor in the accident.
I'm sure his insurance company felt differently.Poke'm with a stick!

Disabled parking violations and throwing lighted material (cigarette butts) on the roadway. Both of those were always 100% ticket for me, no breaks, no how.-- Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun

People who...
-Drive their Hybrid/Energy efficient Smart Car, Prius 15+ over the posted speed limit.
-Have that "Baby on Board" sticker.. they are guilty of something, seatbelt, cell phone, improper child restraint seat, speeding..
-Smoke.. smokers who have empty cigarette boxes all over their car, but no cigarette butts or ash.. Hmmm...
-talk on their cell phones.. People seem to think this is still an okay behavior. Everyday is a cell phone zero tolerance day in my opinion.
-Lane change a million times because they think they're getting somewhere "faster"
-drive on the shoulder to their designated exit.. passing all those who are waiting patiently with their blinker on.
-are unable to take responsibility for their actions. I am more likely to give a break to someone who can admit what they did than someone who plays dumb. "my speedometer is broken" "oh I wasn't paying attention to my speed" "I had my cruise control set".. my personal favorite "Can I just get a warning?" LOL... You are guaranteed a ticket for asking for a break. your ignorance only hurts you.
-speed up for yellow lights. YOU'RE NOT GOING TO MAKE IT! DURRR
All I could think of for now..Internetz are serious business.Comment
