"Five From the Sky" says it all.
The collapsables are nice and compact, but a real PR-24 or hickory straight stick has no equal in a collapsable.
It was called 'stick time' for a reason.LASD Retired

Closing a collapsible baton
I have encountered this problem many times. It locks out and is very difficult to close. I see on every forum telling you to just smash it down on the cement. This will work but if you look at your extended baton you will see a slight curve in it (very slight). You tap the tip so the curve straightens out. It takes a little practice but after a while you can easily see the curve and tap it gently to release the 'lock'. There is no need to smash the tip endlessly on the hard ground.Comment
