what is your duty pen?

I know that leo's have a lot of writing to do, and I know that you guys generally take pride in your equipment, I always see two smart looking pens in the breast pocket, and I'm wondering what brand and model you officers rely on.

I HAD a nice pen set that I would carry. Problem is that you are constantly loosing your pens, writing on weird surfaces, etc... I just bought "nicer" looking cheap pens at walmart. I think they were called zebra pens? Stainless steel bodies, durable, nice looking and about $2 for 2? You could get them in a pen / pencile set also, but I rarely used a pencil at work.

I love my fisher space pen, but I don't use it at work. I prefer the pens from the credit union with the clicky tail caps. Free and functional. I usually have to let someone borrow it or use it for signatures. They conveniently disappear about every two weeks.

I buy those Zebras by the dozen. Good pen, they rarely crap out on me, they fit in my little pen holder on my breast pocket perfectly and they look good. I think they're about $3 a pair, but still way cheap. F-301's! The G-301 is a pretty heavy line that doesn't write as well for me.

When I worked in a jail and on the streets, we always used pencils for reports. I used one of those .7mm mechanical pencils. Of course, report memos and citations were written with a pen, any pen that I can get a hold of.

I tried the Zebra gel pen, but wasn't happy with how it wrote. I won't use anything but a Pilot G2 07 now. I buy them in bulk, and keep spares all over the place. It's the smoothest writing pen I've found. It's the transfers the smoothest on my department's citations and property forms. I carry a silver Cross pen in my class A pocket.

I love love love my Zebra F-701.. Violators get to use a nasty pen from the office, but this thing rocks.. nice grip, flows smoothly. Definitely worth the money to me.

So far, the best pens that I have is a set of Mont Blanc pens. Obviously, I don't use it for work.

It looks like you have to take the cap off the Uni. I've become accustomed to push buttons. When I carried capped pens, I would carry them in the pocket with the cap on the butt end. It's a pain to use two hands to get writing most of the time. I just with the G2 didn't have such a wide rubber grip. It makes getting my handcuff key in and out of the same slot harder. I'll see if they make a push button that uses the same ink cartridge. Thanks.

Thanks for the responses guys, I am currently using the Pilot G6 .7 mm. Same cartridge as the g2 but with a bigger form factor. Love the ink, and running but just hate the plasticy body. Anyone know a stout pen that takes the G2 refills?
