In high pressure loads such as .40SW and .45acp +p the glocks are getting torn up apparently.

Here are some pics of a 4th Gen G17...

This shows the large backstrap installed on the frame. The waffle type grip surface, IMO is better than the RTF. The front trigger guard has a very good sharp set of serrations moulded into the plastic.

This is the G17.4G frame as is with the two backstraps. You push the trigger mechanism housing pin out and slide the new backstrap in, and reinsert a longer housing pin to hold everything in place. The trigger mechanism housing is smaller than the 3G.

You can barely see the barrel has another type of treatment on it compared to the older gen models. Double recoil spring assy and the extractor has that dot on both sides of it...
Overall the new 4Gs have the copper anti-sieze applied in the same places for wearing in purposes."Bruen, the Bruen opinion, I believe, discarded the intermediate scrutiny test that I also thought was not very useful; and has, instead, replaced it with a text history and tradition test." I will say I miss carrying my Glock 19 for regular duty. I think the .40 S&W just tears up guns period, even those the guns that were designed around the round. So far I think the H&K USP is one of the very few that has held up pretty well under the high pressure of the .40 S&WComment

My agency currently issues 3rd gen S&W's, 6906's for male officers and the single stack equivelant for females. We are due to switch to 4th gen glock on 06-01. Apparently they have interchangable backstraps which will cure all ills in the world. I'm actually pretty stoked, I'd much rather have the Glock 23 over the SW 6906.(Just

Up until two years ago the issue weapon out of Quantico was the Glock 22. Currently the Glock 23 is what new agents are issued. The Sig 229 was never issued but you could personally own one and send it to Quantico to be "blessed" to carry. The Sig 226 and 228 were issued, but have been recalled in favor of the Glocks. A few are still out there as personally owned weapons. The Springfield is currently issued to SWAT and HRT, however, the Glock 21 is becoming more popular due to reliability and round count.Comment

Currently, FBI issue for new agents is the (3rd generation) Glock 23 [.40S&W].
Previously, they allowing agents to choose between the Glock 22 [.40S&W] and Glock 23 [.40S&W], but recently they've only give the agents one option, the Glock 23 [.40S&W]
Prior to the Glocks being chosen as the new sidearm, the FBI issue the SIG P-226 [9x19mm] and P-228 [9x19mm], agents got to choose between the two.
FBI SWAT and HRT agents are issued a Springfield Armory 1911.
The one I got to examine and drool over, was marked Bureau Model and the serial # was FBI00xx.
Currently, the only large LE agency to adopt the Gen4 Glock is the Florida Highway Patrol. They ordered 3000 Glock 37Gen4, expected to recieve shipment during Q3 2010, as their new duty sidearm.Last edited by Quiet; 04-04-2010, 8:23 AM.sigpic

That's the plan... we are trading off some model 23's for 22's and they will be the newest and the sexiest... cause the range staff always get the new gear first and get to carry it...
...and guess who is one of the range staff....
waiting upon budget stuff...but expect all new glocks will be gen 4.. esp as we have some women who would benefit from the small interchangeable back straps stuff...
as for what the suits carry...
well with Dr. Utopia in charge over there... they will likely be carrying....

QSZ-92 pistol in 5.8mm
Type: Double Action
Calibers: 5.8mm Chinese or 9x19mm Para
Weight unloaded: 760 g
Length: 190 mm
Barrel length: not known
Capacity: 15 rounds
The QSZ-92 pistol is a most recent development of the Chinese state arms factories, and, apparently, it is now adopted by the PLA (Chinese people's Liberation Army) forces. QSZ-92 pistol is available in two versions, with the only difference being caliber: one is chambered for most common 9x19mm Luger / Parabellum ammunition (QSZ-92-9), and another is chambered for proprietary 5.8mm ammunition with bottle-necked case and pointed bullets (QSZ-92-5.8). The development of the QSZ-92 pistol apparently began circa 1994, and it is in limited service with PLA since the late 1990s.
The QSZ-92 is a short recoil operated, locked breech pistol. It uses a rotating barrel to lock and unlock the slide on recoil. Frame of the QSZ-92 pistol is made from polymer. Trigger mechanism is Double Action, with external hammer and ambidextrous safety / decocker lever, mounted on both sides of the frame. Dual stack magazine holds 15 rounds of ammunition in either caliber. Front part of the frame under the barrel is shaped as an accessory rail to accept laser sights or flashlights. Fixed sights have luminous inserts for low light conditions.
