Seeking a good EVOC instructor

EVOC is proving to be my weak spot in the POST process.

Can anybody recommend a good EVOC instructor? I'd like to work with one off-line.

I think San Bernardino Sheriff's Dept provides drivers training. You should check with their training department.

How is that a weak spot? How do you know? When I went it was only two full days.

I found it the most fun of my entire training experience (but I did race motorcycles, go carts, and professionally test cars)

Depends on which "South Bay Area" he's in.....San Jose or Manhattan Beach.

I got to go for a spin on the Alameda Sheriff's EVOC course with the instructor - it was a blast. (sorry, I know that is of no help to you, but hey, free bump :P )

If you are having basic problems with car control then taking driving lessons from a karting place like LeMans or GoKart Racer is a good way to learn. Autocross events with your own car is also a good training aid but it takes much longer since seat time is limited at each event. Trying to get "real" EVOC instruction is problematic because you need a facility to drive in. Somehow I don't think you're willing to rent a race track for a day.

I seen a 2000 Crown Victoria on craigslist some time back, it was going for the low low price of $600. It ran, but had like 350,XXX miles on it. All I kept thinking was how much fun I could get out of that $600. The problem would be finding a place to drive like its stolen.......lol. I hear Stanislaus County has a pretty good civilian course they offer on a regular basis.

Stanislaus Sheriff runs a good EVOC course. Check their website or email them and ask about when their next course is.
