That actually works. 1-Vicodin with a Jack back. You'll be laughing in front of the T.V. watching Sponge Bob Square Pants in your under wear with no cares. I speak from experience.

Just before I had mine, the guys in the station told me their horror stories. I was told by everyone to follow the Doctor's orders.

When I had my V, I followed the Doctor's orders to the letter and had no ill effects. Went well and healed without a hitch. Couldn't wait to try it out.
Put your feet up and keep them chilled until the pain subsides. I think you went back to work too soon.

    Good luck.

I feel your pain, brother. Well, not now, but I remember all too well! That "back to work in two days" stuff is garbage. It takes what it takes. Big thing is not to give in to the urge to get up and be productive. The ice bag and Vicodin is your friend!!
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

Thanks everyone for the replies so far....

It truly doesn't hurt that bad...It aches, and I can tell that "they" are veeery sensitive, but it's more uncomfortable than painful, if that makes sense. I agree that I just tried to go back to work too fast.

Just be glad that you don't work in a pogo-stick or trampoline factory.

I feel your pain. I had it done almost 17 years ago, and I was fine after a day. Only thing was, the doctor used the suture that is desolving into the body. A portion was still bothering me. So, after it healed, I pulled out the undesolved portion, about 1", and I was fine after that.

I had my big V 8 months ago. I took two days off and went back to work and payed dearly for it. I also stopped the ice to quickly. I decided to permanently attach the ice and I took three days more off of work. Everything went well. I was still sensative for about three weeks after that. I couldnt do PT comfortably until then. Now all is good to go. by the way, all this is totally worth it because this "improves" other aspects of your life. Not having to worry about a pregnancy just makes things much more enjoyable.

12 years old. Bike head on with stationary car, gooseneck to the jewels. I passed out and my sister dragged me 1 block to home. The pain was so bad I when I woke up I threw up. 37 years ago and I still cry when remembered.

These things are not to be messed with lightly. Go to the doc.

Thanks gang for two things. The morning laugh before my commute to work, then the range all week and seeing what I have to look forward too in my fairly near future.

I feel much better now. I've been back to work for two days and we did over a dozen T-Stops today and I never cried...

The reality is it's not that bad. The pain was minimal and controlled by minimal use of Tylenol and occasional introduction of a nice red wine.

I never touched the Darvocet (whatever that is???) and never felt the need. The main thing is to take the time off that you need to heal. I went back to work too soon and honestly think I did too much the day after the procedure, which contributed to it taking longer to return to normal activity. The pipes have taken a couple solo runs...(Sorry for the minor implied vulgarity) and it seems that things still work. The biggest problem right now is that you have to shave and it's growing back and there's still stitches down there, which is a bit weird and itchy. Some people with some methods may heal faster, but if you're thinking "I dunno about going back to normal"...Take another day.

Overall I rate it as easier than many routine dental procedures provided you can just relax for a few days after.

You guys are scaring the crap out of me! I have my appointment on the fifth and I still get the chills thinking about it. Blood, guts, bones, no problems, but something sharp next to "me twig and berries?" No way!

No problem. Tell the doctor that you would prefer that he use a dull soup spoon. Or even a melon baller, when he goes into to check Big Jim and the twins.

Pardon if this goes off-topic a bit, but perhaps a little humor might help:

                                Butch the Rooster
John the farmer was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called "pullets" and eight or ten roosters, whose job was to fertilize the eggs.

The farmer kept records and any rooster that didn't perform went into the soup pot and was replaced. That took an awful lot of his time so he bought a set of tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone so John could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report simply by listening to the bells. The farmer's favorite rooster was old Butch, and a very fine specimen he was, too. But on this particular morning John noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all!

John went to investigate. The other roosters were chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing. The pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. But to Farmer John's amazement, Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. John was so proud of Butch, he entered him in the Boone County Fair and Butch became an overnight sensation among the judges.

                                The result...
The judges not only awarded Butch the
No Bell Piece Prize but they also awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well.
Clearly Butch was a politician in the making: who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention?

                                Sound familiar?
