I don't know of any department using it.

Don't know of any state or local departments using it. I know the feds have a bunch of them in service through various law enforcement branches.

That list of departments can be an interpretive representation of agencies. It is actually an FN list of agencies that have "lettered" a firearm from FN in the past few years. It covers a larger variety of guns and includes "borrowing" a gun for testing. Many of the CA agencies listed tested the P90 system for possible use in tactical situations.

I'm not saying that all of those agencies might don't have those guns in their armories for different purposes. I am saying that, as examples, I have never seen a Chula Vista CA PD, Burbank CA PD, Huston TX or Las Vegas NV, officers carrying an FN 5.7 handgun on dutuy...

It's probably more about the $1k price tag per FiveSeven.... you can get almost 3 glocks for that.

It's probably used for testing more than anything.

I can see using it to test ballistic vests, armored door panels, and common environmental cover items.

I've got one and I love it. Haven't done any ballistic gelatin tests, but the FN hollow point round sails through 3 phone books. Light weight, slim, very accurate and holds 20 rounds of ammo. Even with the 10 round mags, I would strongly recommend it to anyone. The aggressive grip texture seems harsh at first, but it really feels good in my hands. Since there's virtually no recoil, you can quickly empty the mag into a target with very little muzzle flip and a fairly tight group. If you have doubts about the stopping power of the little round, you can at least get several high velocity rounds into your threat with effects comparable to a .223.

As far as I saw in the gelatin tests, it failed to penetrate 12" (FBI minimum).
