?MOST? of them???? So there were some that were NOT attributed to user error then, right? Is that supposed to make us feel better about that junk design? If it wasn?t ?user error? with some of them, then it was mechanical error.

?still not good enough to trust.

I will not carry mine due to the complaints and me being on my THIRD issued P320 in 4 years.
First 320 had an issue where the trigger reset was unnoticeable and secondary trigger pull was a hair trigger to drop the striker.
Second 320 had a FTE where the ejector far as I can tell dug into the brass so that the slide was locked and it could not be racked. We didn?t know if there was a live round or not and the ROs peered down the barrel using an iPhone and saw it was a spent casing. Took a hard whack with a wooden dowel to get the brass out. They sent that weapon back to the armory and gave me my third one. I only use it on qual and practice days to get time on a red dot before deciding if i like red dots enough to shell out for my personally owned weapon for duty.
When it works, it shoots well but given the complaints, my own issues and hefty price tag on mags?hard pass on carrying it daily. Instead, I?ve been carrying my G19 for 4 years and not a single issue.

I'm currently issued the sig320X carry, however I concede that glock19 is the better hand gun without a doubt.

Now as far as off duty micro compact guns go, sig 365s are the best imo.

Well , YES , there are VERY few 9mm handguns that can MAYBE compete with Glock 19 ( or 17 ). I agree with You P365's. Excellent little guns.

This article regarding Milwaukee PDs P320s is from last year, but is still relevant. There is a video floating around of a Milwaukee PD officers gun going off in the holster while taking a suspect into custody. Of course, Sig is blaming the holster.

At a local USPSA match at Gopher Flats last month here in SoCal, someone's P320 cooked off a round after holstering. The range no longer allows P320s on the range unless they have a thumb safety.

Just wondering. I was always taught that a round ?cooking off? was due to the heat of the chamber causing the round to go off. How would a thumb safety prevent this? Does the safety instantly cool the chamber or something?

That round didn't cook-off, the 320 did what 320's do and released the striker due to a impact on the slide or pressure on the frame. The thumb safety 320 does not experience the same level of malfunctions. Probably why you don't see this in the military issued 320's. they bought the version with a thumb safety while most departments bought the version without a thumb safety.

Naw.... There is a fundamental design flaw in the 320 series. The full tension striker with a short trigger travel and interchangeable frames combined are a serious problem that make the 320 without a thumb safety dangerous.

                      Thats interesting....
So it just goes off. Have you or anyone else been able to repeat that?
Whats the difference between that and say a 226, 229 or 220 that is in SA?

                        Everyone always blames the gun..

I remember when Glocks were first introduced how many ND's were happening, and almost always it was blamed on the weapon ( it was always user error , whether it was improper gear / holsters or some other malfunction between the ears.) I've personally learned that I believe little that people say when it comes to guns ( cause everyone that ever held one, was a LEO or Mil guy is an expert on the subject if you ask them. ) I dislike Glocks, they just never felt good in hand for me, I carried Sig P-series most of my life and it took me a good long while to get onboard with striker fired guns. I started with a M&P because of the aforementioned dislike of Glocks ergonomics , and eventually moved to a 320 with hesitation because of the reports.
I am about 7 + years into my P320's at this point and have never had safety or cookoff issues in either of the 2 P320's and 1 M18. I also have a G19 that has been heavily modified to fit me better but prefer the P320 in X-Carry frame and carry it with confidence having never had reason to feel otherwise for what it's worth. I also see a lot of them at the range that I RSO at and have never witnessed a malfunction with one that wasn't user or ammo induced.

Yes there are plenty of videos of the 320 discharging when struck or dropped thags why this gun is so controversial. The 226,229,and 220 are not striker fired pistols and were all built with more internal safety features.

So still no factual evidence of a problem with the gun. Just like glocks where were plenty of videos of negligence and complacency causing these discharges.

I?m fairly confident a gun discharging inside a holster has nothing to do with negligence or complacency. But I?ve been wrong before.

Possibly on the part of the engineer, or quality control?

Well sig Changed the design and did a "voluntary upgrade" because they didn't want issue a official recall on their hottest gun to fix the problem and it's still happening so yes there is clearly a problem with the gun.
