the ones on the wall all are reserved for the LA probation buy back. They have a couple of used m-14 wooded stock available.

So on the wall all are technically sold to LA Co probation?

Look at the barrel profile, only a few of them are 580 series. The others are a hard pass

These are trade ins from San Berdoos DA investigators. They are pretty much brand new! They qualified with our ranges mini-14s so there's not even quality rounds thru them. Just carried in the trunk in a case. I already have my name down for one, but more leff!
In this day and age I have a really hard time believing any agency would allow qualification with someone else's weapon.

Get in a duty shooting with your agency's weapon, miss your target and accidentally shoot an innocent bystander, and come to find out that you missed because your agency weapon sights are drastically off. And you didn't know your sights are off because you've been qualifying with someone else's weapon. Good luck trying to defend that lawsuit. Good Grief.....

I was there yesterday to buy one. They have 40 Mini-14s, but all are spoken for. I wonder why they kept displaying it.

I ended up buying another firearm. I was in and out in 1 hour and 30 minutes without an appointment. I thought it was fast. I happened to drive by the Proforce after going to an Orange County Court in Santa Ana.

These were our duty rifles in the units. People discount the versatility of the Mini. It's the Glock of the rifle world, not the best at anything but it will keep putting rounds down range without fail. Every time we had to deploy one it worked without fail and accomplished what it needed to do.

There is a possibility some of those rifles are 40 years old. They were issued in 1981 after the Norco bank robbery shootout. Mags were rotated out but I don't recall qualifying on the unit assigned rifle.

It was either Wednesday or Thursday around 11am. I stood around for an hour with no numbers called and I left. It was another 1.5 hours when I received a text that they were ready to see me. Yeah, I’ll pass. Done with that.
Was there in October, was in and out in under an hour no appointment. Only one other person came in during the morning. Was actually my first time there, I've heard the horror stories of hours long waits too. With everything YMMV, I guess I got lucky that day. That said the phone was ringing every 30 seconds.
