You're only as old as you feel. This morning, as my knees creaked and buckled, I guess I'm about 95.......By noon I should be back in the 50's.....

Except for Compuham, you are all youngsters; even you Ron.
Class #180, June 25 1976-Oct. 22, 1976. Retired in 2003, IOD.
Ron may not want to admit it, but we worked the same station for awhile.
Good guy.
OP, you should follow the advice given.Comment

Was Sgt Perry the "ramrod" for your class? He was one tough looking fellow with that scar on his face.Poke'm with a stick!

Yeah, but I'll never forget my first patrol ride at Firestone Station. Didn't know boots weren't allowed to: 1 - Park in the station parking lot, 2- Sit down in the briefing room, 3 - Get a soda from the machine because I was there 2 hours early and was reading reports, 4 - Even think about doing anything else. I did all of those things and more because I didn't know anything about the FPK traditions. They didn't quite know how to take me at first. It didn't take them long to figure it out.
Within 10 minutes of going 10-8, I saw some knucklehead that my FTO didn't see (beginner's luck) walking down the street carrying a rifle. (A Marlin 30-30 lever if I recall) He was headed back to the party he had just been thrown out of to pay his 'respects' to the guys who threw him over the fence. That was my welcome to the Sheriff's Department. It's been quite a ride since then.LASD Retired
