As a former LASD Deputy let me say EB, just concentrate on your studies for the time being. Keep you nose clean. The things you are wondering about will serve only to distract you right now. They will all be explained in due time. Good luck!

Yeah you might be surprised when staff cadre that monitors this forum, calls you up to the front of the classroom to read outlout your enquiry as to your potential duty assignments to the rest of the cadets. Their question to you might be, "And just what makes you think you are going to make it out of here anyway Scooter?"

The assignment will be assigned from the wish list you filed. The shifts are usually from 0600 in 3 shifts for jails. Day offs will be rotating every month. VAcation sign ups will be based on the county seniority. You are at the bottom. So, don't worry about it and just do your job.

I stick around just to prove they can't get rid of me that easy. Someone has to teach the younglings the ways of the force.
