Mine uses POF rifles with Aimpoint Pro's, but I think Colt and FN are definitely more common.

Colt LE 6920 with a trijicon ta44 Acog mounted on top of the carry handle and a three point sling. We are kinda behind the times. Up until recently we could only use Colt brand magazines.

Havent seen one in CA except for Fish and Game officers. More common in areas where big game has to be dispatched on roadways.

99% of patrol rifles are going to be AR pattern.

Sig M400, Iron Sights. Only the best for us.

Sigstroker, our M400's are holding up well, but we had a few teething issues when new. I found the fit was very precision compared to the Colt's. The bolt/bolt carrier fit was so precision that two of the rifles broke gas rings during the initial 1000 rounds. I replaced the rings in all of the rifles after that and we haven't had any more of those issues, but the caveat to that is that during the annual maintenance, we replace all gas rings even if they tension gauge ok (bolt carrier weight test).

We did have one that had its forward assist separate during firing. I checked all rifles and found that 3 of them didn't have drilled and roll pinned forward assists.

I sent those rifles back to Sig for warranty. They fixed it and returned all rifles back with an explanation that they use two different attachment methods for their forward assists. One uses the standard roll pin and the other is some kind of crush fit. They advised that if I wasn't satisfied, they would modify all 3 of those rifles to roll pin attachment. I was satisfied with their answer, so I did not have them modified and we have not had any further issues with forward assists on the 3 that use the crush fit attachment method.

You guys don't know how good you have it. Our issue patrol rifle is a Ruger Mini-14 w/ irons. Reloads under stress are a PITA, but at least it won't scare the sheep.

Smith & Wesson M&P 15 Sport with Aimpoint Comp M4s.....not exactly "top tier" by reputation but they seem to work great for us

Our agency issues Daniel Defense 16" rifles with RIS rail, Eotech, Magpul Pro BUIS, and an attached light. Good reliable rifle platform. We also authorize dudes to carry their personal rifles if they choose to.
