Whats the normal vaccine trial time? You know Phase 1 + Phase 2 + Phase 3 usually takes how long? How is it that covid vaccine only took like 10% of that time? What steps were skipped? What got rushed? You sure its 100% fully tested?

I took my flu shot as I have for the last 5-7 years. Soon I am also getting the Pneumococcal vaccine for the first time. But I'm not taking the covid vaccine till next year at the earliest. Maybe I'm being paranoid but I'd like some more testing done before I take something for a illness that I have very very very low chance of dying from.

We are supposed to be able to get it on Monday, but we still have to wear masks.
      Idk.

The vaccine doesn't cure covid. It doesn't mean you won't get covid ever again, like the polio vaccine. You know, how a real vaccine works.

You must work for LAPD or LASD...

And my agency said it was voluntary. I *can* see a situation where they won't give you workers comp etc if you didn't get the vaccine and get sick.

Yup, exactly this. In the military, they OWN you. In law enforcement, we're still civilians and most are lucky enough to have a union. The govt can't stick a needle in a citizen's arm without either their consent or a warrant (read 4th A. seizure). They might eventually require it for FUTURE employment, but cannot mandate it under current employment under the threat of termination. My guess is those who don't want it won't be assigned to work patrol/custody at their dept (desk job/admin).

Right now for my agency, vaccines are optional but the weekly covid testing is mandatory.

Alix Mayer, President, Children’s Health Defense, and California Chapter Board Director, Children’s Health Defense (CHD), has issued a sharply-worded letter to 1,100 California school superintendents, that use of unproven or unreliable PCR tests and experimental COVID-19 vaccines cannot be mandated and any of these unproven medical technologies can only be offered to symptomatic patients via […]

Right now its optional, although the sheriff is highly encouraging employees to get it. I would say its about 70% of employees do not want it at this point. Most of command staff has received it, most of patrol has refused and the majority of the jail staff refused.

I can see it in the future being a condition of employment. Back in March when masks were optional and then april, even though law enforcement is exempt from the county order, masks became manditory. Several employees were sent home for refusing to wear masks and came back after they got thier head "right".

Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.
