Some fire persons are fine specimens of muscle and flesh. They also get better tools like chainsaws, rotary saws, pumps and scba firegear. I just have bolt cutters.

Not all inspectors are arson investigators. At first they were considered "cause investigators" no arrest powers. It finally evolved into what is is now. We used to give them a lot of crap about carrying, like "OK, who has the bullet today?" They all thought the training was excellent. I don't recall them doing periodic retraining or quals though. They had an office in my station in El Monte and they were busier than most people would think.

Gotta keep that post count up. How else are people ever going to respect what I say unless I have a significant amount of posts?

Milpitas PD has investigation authority for fires. Its an officer wearing a FD shirt.

He teaches alot of classes and is a really nice guy.

The OCFA investigators get more training than just 832, they get a modified POST academy offered at Goldenwest College. And the Cal Fire Peace Officers are not "fire marshals", they carry their specific rank and add peace officer next to it.

I found out about that because there was a fire on my street and the police officers pulled out their fire gear from their cruisers trunk and we're fire fighters. After talking with them they said to be a fireman you had to do so much time as a officer before going permanent fireman.

Yep, Sunnyvale is a failed program that they are always hiring for.

                              Completely one billion percent disagree!

I have had the pleasure of working in Sunnyvale as a paramedic for about 7 years. Their medical care is excellent, police services are top notch, in enforcement and outreach.

They are always hiring because everyone is retiring.

I've seen a few Cal Fire officers around here doing all kinds of law enforcement stuff with the sheriffs department. they have red and blue lights on their cars and are only marked with a cal fire sticker and red stripes on their cars. you can't tell if one is a cop until they activate their lights.
