    We have little say.
Legislators pass laws, the governor signs them.
Gun owners are a minority in this state, and the socialists have control.

And how we go about taking back our rights.
Move to a free state. California is a lost cause and will only get worse with a Democrat supermajority, and "open primaries" guaranteeing fewer and fewer conservative seats.

Regular people like me are a police officers ally. We don't like bad guys either. We are the ones who will back you up if you're in danger.
Most officers and even many departments understand this.
San Bernardino County Sheriff WANTS citizens to carry and considers them partners.

Do police departments at all have a political voice when it comes to this type of thing? What would happen if you didn't enforce these outrageous laws? CA politicians couldn't exactly call on the Feds.
Sadly, the political "voice" of police agencies is the left-supporting unions and the top brass in the large agencies like LAPD and LASO.

Then they get fired and new people that will do the job get put in their place. A good example is the air traffic controllers during the Reagan presidency. As far as following the Constitution, doesn't that also include article 3?

There is one "common sense gun law" that is intended to deter crime. <paraphrased> Use a gun while committing a crime and you're in bigger trouble.
All other gun laws create a crime.

            Are criminals compliant?

Yeah usuaually when holding them at gun point during a felony T stop.

Then again that is changing more and more with stupid department policy like LAPD life sustaining award or whatever they call it when you don't use force.
