"in fear of an investigation" Let them investigate.

I'm not a LEO but my time spent in the military I can say the exact same thing, We have gotten a lot of "millennials" in the service as well just looking for a paycheck and "free" college. I would say that my time as a team leader and squad leader is that you have to get creative when it come to discipline / "corrective training". I know I probably have more "freedoms" when it comes to this than in the private sector but if you know you are rite then you shouldn't fear an investigation.

As for this whole millennial thing I would look at who created/raised them and passed the laws that help set up their mindset. I personally don't understand how this got so out of hand or how the last few generations let this millennial mindset creep so far out of control. (I'm looking at you hippies)

I guess that I would be part of the millennial generation but every generation has people who want everything for free, that are weak, and wine/cry about everything. I am willing to admit that most stereotypes are created for a reason.

I am thankful for my upbringing and the life lesson that I have been taught so that I may standout among my peers.

I too am part of the accursed millennial generation. I am a first generation Asian-American born from VN war refugee parents. I grew up with lots of siblings and all welfare. My parents didn't understand how the country worked and were in fear of the "white man" and government. Case in point, I grew up in a very liberal progressive Dem environment.

Why I didn't go the route that my immediate and extended families and friends did? It felt wrong. I was never one to go with the crowd mentality. I knew when things were immoral or unethical and I felt terrible when I saw things happen. I found the courage to call out bad behaviors and held them accountable for their actions. That cost me a lot of friends and almost all of my family, but you know what? I've never regretted it.

I know who I am and I chose to be in a profession that allows me to thrive on doing what is right when no one is looking. If I have the ability to take down stupidity and corruption, I will because that is what my instincts dictate.

I also fully understand that this profession will bring the heartache and tears and was not meant to be easy. I train constantly to prevail over the obstacles that we will face in the field. Maybe I will get more cynical as my CA career advances towards retirement. That's OK because we need to laugh to heal, but I will do my best to ensure that my partners and I are still alive to keep laughing.

It is unfortunate that I do not see this same mentality in everyone that I meet.

Please no killing of narcs. I would really prefer not to die just yet. And truth be told, it's probably the safest assignment in the biz right now. I don't walk around with a giant target on my all day.

As for the millenials, I agree there is an attitude problem. I'm technically a millenial but I can't stand some of the new officers. They have more salt caked on them by the time they are off probation than guys who are about to retire. Personally I thinks it's a failure in our Fto program and an admin failure. I've seen people get passed even when the ftos recommended termination because admin just wanted another body to fill the spot. I've also seen admin ignore Fto recommendations because the person was a bilingual female. Most of the new people are in their early to mid twenties. Most of them are good people but some...........we'll see.

Exactly why CGF will never see a penny from me. The fact that they have a board member who unabashedly endorses police murder is disgusting. The fact that he is allowed to post here is baffling to me.

In the old days "corrective training" was called a blanket party
