FYI, I voted no on every proposition. I wasn't speaking for active duty, not already retired, when I stated I knew of nobody retired who carried hi-caps for full sized pistols, as nobody I know of who is retired carries a firearm capable of handling more than 7-8 rounds. Having said that, capacity laws, while not unconstitutional, serve no tangible/demonstrable purpose related to criminality/lethality. The FBI does not keep statistics on the number of rounds a firearm carried.

Friend who retired from Anaheim 15 years ago still carries his 92FS with 15rd mags.FYI, I voted no on every proposition. You may not be familiar with any who carry larger guns, but they are out there

Barring simply carrying it in a car/truck, this merely proves there's an exception to everything. Carrying a full sized auto concealed in Anaheim weather? Oversized "Hawaiian" shirts and shorts too? Not doubting you, but it just doesn't make any sense to this Norcal Cali guy. Our weather is just too damn hot most of the year to even think of wearing anything that would conceal/support a full sized auto of any kind, at least concealed. Not doubting you at all, just truly surprised, as I know many hundreds of retirees in my area and belong to many retired LEO organizations and have encountered NOBODY who carries a full sized weapon concealed, which is capable of carrying more than 10 rounds, not a single person since being retired, that being more than 5+ years ago.Last edited by roostersgt; 10-31-2016, 2:00 AM.Comment

Gotta love it, the gov treats military and LE, first responder like peons after our service."All that is complex is not useful. All that is useful is simple."

I carry a G17 on duty for 23 years. Off duty , especially when it's warm , I normally carry a single stack pistol or 3 inch .357 revolver. MOST people I know who ACTUALLY arm themselves 24/7 , do not carry handguns that can accommodate more than 10 rounds. Sure, they may have G17 or P226 in the nightstand , but not 24/7 on their personComment

Agree with Your statement Sir. +1!IMO, Bill Wiese is an a**hole, well known for his anti LE stance and encourages people to lie in order to be able to get off roster guns. He has openly condoned the murders of LE. F**k him.
That said...Prop 63 affects all of California's lawful citizens

To answer this.....the courts not the LEO's. I don't know of a single instance where an officer arrested someone and was sentenced without the court.
I know almost everyone will disagree but I do believe those who blame the LEO's are barking up the wrong tree.
FYI...the U.S. military have been training going door to door. In my 25 years as a LEO I have never trained going door to door.
Just saying...Comment

Rooster, this thread was started by an leo that cared enough to ask if the exemptions were in place. Another leo cared enough to assure him they were.
I'm glad you claim not to care, but enough leo do care to ensure their bosses and unions keep their 2a rights preserved, while helping reduce those of non leo.
Shouldn't leo just vote no, regardless of wether or not leo exemptions have been included?Last edited by NatetheGr8; 11-20-2016, 9:18 PM.Comment

Exactly desertjosh! There is no reason a retired LEO should be able to run 15 rd mags and Joe blow citizen can only run 10rd mags. Retired LEO becomes a citizen. These are words from my father who retired from LASD in 2000. Now I agree that a off duty officer is different... off duty still is under oath... retired are not.Last edited by ShaneB; 11-21-2016, 10:19 PM.Comment

Many of us are tired of the "more equal" style snarky comments. It gets real old fellas. We don't have any control over these stupid laws.LASD Retired
