Retirement Badge is in

I carried a loaner retirement flat bade until now, for 2 months. I finally received my own retirement flat badge yesterday. It had "Honorably Retired" engraved in the badge with my original badge number, and a separate metal tab with my name and service dates.

It was pretty cool. I feel official now.

It's sad how most of us get sick or hurt right after we retire from the job. The best thing is to stay active, but stress free sir.

Same here, never carry it though, unless I'm going to a department function, or the range.

I was given the the badge I wore with a "Retired" rocker epoxied on it. I was also given a "Retired" flat badge and a new wallet. It has been sitting in a drawer since the day I brought it home. Not sure what to do with it.

I just enjoyed my assignments. I always tell the recruits when I give them a lecture that find an assignment you like and enjoy it. I always told everyone that my assignment was an extension of my hobby.
