We qualify our off-duty weapons quarterly on our own time and dime; however, for lack of a better phrase, we are required to pay a courtesy fee to qual our off-duty weapons at the dept. range. This also means, therefore, that my off duty card gets signed by a rangemaster at my agency. (Better liability protection for me as someone authorized by my employer is signing off on my docs.)

Issued a UC gun, qual twice a year with it, and we can carry anything else if we qual and have it inspected once a year by an armorer.

We do it on company time. They have range staff available all week long during quals so you can go in whenever and shoot. If you're in patrol they just rotate guys throughout the shift.

I can't believe how many agencies only require quarterly, semi annual and annual qualifications

My former agency required monthly qualification for all weapons on/off duty.

CA Penal Code requires quarterly for most LEOs for on-duty carry. My agency quals monthly for on-duty, quarterly for off-duty.
