    Lt. Col Dave Grossman (Ret.)

Lt. Col. Dave Grossman will be in Orange County February 15th 2016.

As some of you know I run a holster shop inside Artemis Defense Institute in Lake Forest. Artemis is coordinating the seminar by Lt. Col Grossman. The tab for the seminar is being picked up by the BASCOM Group.

"The Bulletpoof Mind: Mental Preparation for Combat" seminar is being made available at no cost to LEOs, and Church Security Teams. The attendance is limited to 350 seats. Boxed Lunch is included.

I believe most of you already know that Lt. Col. Grossman is considered one of the nations leading law enforcement trainers. Some of you may know him as the author of the book "On Killing" and "On Combat"

He has served as a trainer and keynote speaker for all major national and international law enforcement training organizations.

The registration period for LEO's has been open since 19 January, but as I just got back from SHOT Show, I didn't have time to post the notice.

Church security team registration will open this week and requires a letter.

    Hello All,

Just a reminder… please send this to all LEO’s, Fire Fighters, other first responders along with active military personnel as soon as possible. I will be sending an email to all churches in three days. I want to be able to capture as many first responders as possible. I know that many have participated already…

    Thank you!

    Sandy

    Hello...

We have been graced with another opportunity to handle the logistics for the upcoming Bulletproof Mind seminar by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman. This event is sponsored by the Bascom Group and is scheduled for Monday, February 15, 2016 from 9am-4pm at Calvary Chapel, Santa Ana.

I have attached a flyer for you to review… or you are welcome to click here http://artemisdefenseinstitute.com/e...Date=2/19/2016 to go straight to the registration page. PLEASE USE ACCESS CODE: bulletproof to register.

I know many of you have had the opportunity to see him… and the program that he will be presenting is similar to the one that you have attended within the past year. If you know individuals who are LE/First Responders who have not had the opportunity to be trained by him, please feel free to forward this to anyone who might be interested. It is a free seminar and a boxed lunch will be provided.

In one week, I will be opening the doors to security teams from local churches. All names must be presented to us on church letterhead with authorization from the senior pastor or the security team leader.

Thank you for helping me spread the word… we believe that changing the mindset will help saves lives!

    Sandy

I noticed the church teams need a letter head. Do I need one from m dept or can I simply sign up?

Glad some of you are going to be able to make it to the seminar. I think it's very cool that Artemis Defense Institute is handling all the logistics, and BASCOM is picking up the tab. Both organizations care for our LEO community, and our Church Security teams.

I believe what Lt. Col. Grossman teaches can save our lives. Hope to meet some of you well we are there. Stay safe.

Hopefully some of you were able to attend, the turn out was very good. Would love to hear your thoughts.

I personally felt Artemis Defense Institute did a great job organizing and running the seminar, and BASCOM who paid for everyone to attend and the facilities, was mentioned a couple of times but didn't seek the spotlight they deserved. They truly showed how much they care for the community on a personal level.

The school intelligence report was cause for pause.

I thought it was a good lecture. The first half was full of facts youde never hear otherwise. Target hardening is something our schools definitely need.

What wasn't pushed, but is clear that officers should be familiar with the layouts and access for the schools on their beat. Nice to know the layout if your going to be the first one there.

But although the book does a more complete job, it helps to understand why the cadre were seeing today is more violent even when they have obtained the monetary objective. The violence for violence sake is more rare.

It never occurred to me that the Boston Massacre and St. Valentines Day Massacre were much smaller than the school massacres and were legendary and shocking at the time.

Even the famous hatfield and McCoy feud wasn't as bad. In thirty years only a dozen people compared to the single shootouts by lone wolf terrorists today.

And it's gunna take a lot more than coppers being familiar with school layouts to keep ppl safe. I did like his apology to overlapping layers of fire protection though. There's a million and one ways we protect schools and children against fire but almost nothing is done to protect them against violence.

He has been called in to work the debrief team on all of the school shootings. He was asked to testify on both sides of the Oklahoma bombing. As he mentioned he was in Connecticut teaching LEO's the morning of Sandy Hook. With the agencies he works with and for, he has a premonition about the school thing. It's the ultimate soft target. But he has seen the pain, the families the shattered professionals, and worked with them.

But it gets back to the thread here in the LEO forum about the amount of ammo you carry. The tread is the one on the choice between the Sig vs the M&P 9mm. Then think about the ammo fairy discussion.

Heard a number of guys during the bio break note they were going to add a rifle to their collection.

In the context of day to day, carrying a butt load of mags in a bailout bag in your car, especially your private car seems paranoid. If you treat what we heard as quality intel which I believe it is, than the action would be viewed as prudent.
