Modifying the question again. What belts have you owned that you would never buy again, and if you will, why?

Belts are like holsters, every one has a bunch they've brought and didn't like. Thank goodness for ebay...
One person may like something that you can't stand. It's all personal preference. I think the main point is buy something reliable and with some quality. After all we're talking about life-saving equipment.Comment

Gunslinger you hit the nail on the head. My hope is that the poor quality, poor manufacture support items will show up and I can avoid them. By knowing why I can look at the cause of the dissatisfaction.Belts are like holsters, every one has a bunch they've brought and didn't like. Thank goodness for ebay...

If I decide to carry belts, I want to carry affordable quality, that is what my little shop is built around. I come from an organization who's motto was "Unquestionable Quality" and we spent hard, trained hard to make that our reality. Because as a Prime Weapon System manufacture every product we made was tested to the limits.Comment

I have three different belts I wear off duty right now: cheap cotton belt, leather belt I can wear my own belt buckle on, and a better BDU belt (something like that.. Blue Force Gear I think..). I'm currently in the market for a new leather belt but I haven't found the right one yet (I haven't been looking that hard and haven't found any in stock to try on).Stay classy, CGF and Calguns.Originally posted by bwiese[BTW, I have no problem seeing DEA Agents and drug cops hanging from ropes, but that's a separate political issue.]Comment

Feature wise what are you looking for? Color, size, more like a belt that could be worn with a suit, or perhaps jeans. Tactical, non-tactical. Brown, Black, lizzard, gator, carbon fiber? Size range? Type of equipment supported such as full size IWB + Mag and and light?I have three different belts I wear off duty right now: cheap cotton belt, leather belt I can wear my own belt buckle on, and a better BDU belt (something like that.. That's why I need to really try a few out (or at least see them in person). When I don't NEED something (I already have belts that work when I NEED to wear one; I'd just like another good-working belt that doesn't make me look like a tackleberry or cop off duty) I tend to procrastinate a bit. I guess what I am trying to get is: a belt for jeans/shorts, stiff enough to hold a full size gun on a IWB (OWB for suit/plain clothes work perhaps... or if cheap enough I'd get two belts), I don't use mag holders and lights on belt off duty, probably dark brown in color, most likely plain ol' leather, I can't decide on a buckle/wouldn't mind using my own (I hate shiny brass buckles), probably in a size 32 or 33 for IWB and if I got a court/nicer one 31-32.Stay classy, CGF and Calguns.Originally posted by bwiese[BTW, I have no problem seeing DEA Agents and drug cops hanging from ropes, but that's a separate political issue.]Comment

The Wilderness
I got about ten years out of my first one then the only problem was the velcro was coming un-stitched. You can upgrade the stiffness with extra stitching or even a composite liner. Also, they have a refurbishing program so you can send it in the get fixed up after it starts wearing out. I'm not affiliated with the company just trying to help. I liked it so much I bought a second one. The one I wear is the 'Original Instructor Belt'.

I carry Boston Leather dog collars for our K9 friends. I had heard their belts weren't really stiff enough and sagged (only some on line reviews). I know they use good leather. How long have you had yours, how often do you wear it, and are the looks holding up)?us made garrison belt from boston leather. in plain black leather and 1.75 inches wide has yet to fail me carrying my glock 17 iwb. the leather is nice and thick and its about 20$ shipped from ebay or amazon. plus you look like a normal person and not all tacticool like the rest of the belts mentioned even if you are wearing your shirt untucked every bit helps.Comment

I have been carrying it daily for 4 years and while it has "molded" to my shape it does not sag they are really thick. make sure you get a real top grain leather and not the cheaper bonded leather ones out there. i use it with a Sig 229, mags (3), cuffs and a iwb kingtuk or with a bianchi special agent paddle holster while on duty and off with just my glock 17 in a iwb kingtuk. i just got a new one and made it into a velcro belt for passing through security since i could not find anyone that made one in 1.75 inches. again my experience has been with the 1.75 inch belt since anything smaller makes all my gear wobble or feel loose. my partner just got an Amish belt made of 13oz leather in 1.75 its really nice and only 40$ but he said it was too thick for his daily conceal holster but it looks like it would work with my setup. alot depends on what holster you will be using.Comment
