    Scheels opens new store...

    ...in Meridian.

Story on the news just now on channel 7. Scheels is all outdoors stuff, guns out your ears.

Location is US84 and Ten Mile. Opening is supposed to be some time in the summer, next year.

If you've not been to a Scheels store, I guarantee your mind will be blown, a little after you enter. The stores are HUGE.

I've got no idea as to pricing, and great competition to gun stores and shops here in Idaho.

Not to menton the Marketplace here on Calguns.net ...

The Scheels near me is priced like Cabelas. They have a large ferris wheel inside for the kiddies. Decent selection. Only purchased ammo there. And fishing stuff.

A lot of high end rifles and shotguns.

I love Scheels, I just wish I was closer than 40 minutes.

They have decent prices on guns. Not as good as some mail order places but they let you handle and inspect the guns before you buy them.

My next CCW pistol. I need to find an IWB holster or else appendix carry it.

Good food court at the Reno/Sparks store. During a break there for a CCW class, I purchased reloading supplies; good prices, and listened to an animatronic Abe Lincoln giving a speech.

You never ate at Cantina Los Tres Hombres just outside of Scheels?

I could spend all day in a Scheels. Best gun selection of any of the big stores and lots of reloading components.

I love Scheels. They are a stand up great company with American values.

So when are they going to be bought out by Bass Pro?

Our Scheels food court is pretty good and has a huge candy/chocolate shop

Also an animatronic Thomas Jefferson as well as Lincoln (Four Score and Seven Years Ago....)

I'd say it's more likely if anything that Scheels buys Bass Pro someday...that's a "maybe" and a "perhaps".

Bass Pro completely ruined Cabelas here in Boise.

Not just in Boise. Bass Pro has done a lot of damage far and wide with their acquisition of Cabelas. At least Sportsman's Warehouse was able to fend them off.
