They don't live in Idaho, and so have no clue. It really is that simple. Also, many fear leaving the comfort of the prison they know for the unknown. So, to assuage their feelings of timidity and disquietude, they seek to disparage others that have made the leap into the unknown and have prospered from it. They mock, denigrate, and seek to undermine because they don't understand, or else they are angry that others are bolder and stronger than they are.

It's human nature. People have always been, are now, and will forever be tribal.

Interesting statistic, but I wonder how many Dems and Republicans in the baseline

i.e 10% of 50,000 is a much larger number than 12% of 10,000 meaning even though the R growth rate is slower, the numbers are impossible for the D's to catch up with

I'd take a look at presidential election voting results by precinct. Not sure where "up here" is, but Hayden is known as a PD retirement center. My room mate from college retired from Santa Clara PD is up there, and has been for quite a while.

I'd say correct with, again, exceptions in the panhandle, Blain & Teton counties, and Boise's north end and BSU (not sure of BSU's zip).

I notice the vote statistics between 2016 and 2020 come up frequently. I think some context might help. Data off Wikipedia...so if that's bad then my apologies.

              2016
              Trump: 409,055 (59.25%)
              Hillary: 189,765 (27.48%)
              Evan (I): 46,476 (6.73%)

              2020
              Trump: 554,119 (63.84%)
              Biden: 287,021 (33.07%)
              Jorgensen (L) 16,404 (1.89%)

So to put things in perspective:
              1. More voted for Trump (as previously said)
              2. More voted for Biden (relative to Hillary)
              3. 145K more voted for Trump, BUT as percentage points Biden got 5.56% more than Hillary whereas Trump got 4.58% more in 2020 than 2016

Conclusion: Trump got a great number of votes increase whereas Democrats got a larger percentage point increase. This is the game of statistics....

Hey Howie, am I a moron for taking note that elements of the "kalifornication" of Idaho is already taking place?

I'm not talking about Idaho politics - which are safe for the time being, but rather the kinds of people and the ideas that they are bringing to Idaho.

They are already trying to plunk subdivisions of high-density housing into rural areas where the aquifer will not handle the level of pumping for water nor will it work for that number of septic systems. They are doing EXACTLY the same thing they did to ruin the California that I came to back in 1975 before it became a sh*thole of a state, and now I have concerns because they are doing it all over again.

If my concerns make me a "moron" in your opinion, then I'll gladly wear the title, but I'll be damned if I'm going to just stand here idle and let it happen all over again without doing anything.

So please tell me what it is that you're actively doing to preserve the quality of the state of Idaho?

To be clear, that was directed towards the same members that are constantly coming into this subforum saying Idaho is the new California, or Idaho is turning blue....
They don't even live here, and are acting like ignorant morons....

Your concerns sound like you are talking about Ada county, or surrounding areas. Eastern Idaho while still growing doesn't suffer the issues that Boise has, and Boise doesn't equal the rest of the state.

And what I'm doing, is raising an entire LARGE household, with conservative ideas, moral lifestyles, respect for the constitution, and we vote accordingly...

Fair enough, but I would urge you to become active in local politics - as in attending your county board meetings and keeping track of what kinds of "projects" are being pushed by greedy developers.

When I moved to Bonner county in 2016, I never dreamed there would be developers attempting to subdivide below the 10-acre threshold to drop high-density housing into rural areas. When that starts to happen, we'll likely wind up having to fight to keep our rural habits alive. Next thing you know, they'll use population density as a argument to ban shooting on your land.

I'm just trying to prod you to prevent you from becoming complacent and having such undesirable changes slip past you before it's too late. I think we need to actively work towards preventing those thing from happening.

Some 33 percent of Idaho voters picked Biden. That's 32 percent too much.
