Gun laws wrt buying and selling between private parties:

A bill of sale protects you as the seller. It is an affidavit from the buyer that he is legally allowed to purchase a gun and it gives you a record of the sale in case there are any traceability issues that lead to you being the owner of a gun.

Some buyers are turned off of this and you may lose a sale of a gun by insisting on it so it's completely up to you if you want to do this.

        Made the move last July.
We settled on 55 acres west of Waco.

The property tax situation in McLennan county isn't so good. Even though our land is supposed to be "Exempt", they raised the appraised value on the home while undervaluing the land so we will have to fight it...

This is a lie. First time I stopped to take a leak, I was severely disappointed.

Pops has an offer in on a house with a little property near Corpus. Since mom passed, I'll be moving in with him. Already have a couple of potential spots for work paying almost the same as I make here in Cali. Fingers crossed, may be fully moved over there to see 4th of July in free America.

I plan on moving to TX in the next 5 yrs. But it seems TX is experiencing a Liberal infestation. Hate to move to TX and 15yrs from now it turns into CA.

All the Metro areas are LIBERAL except for Fort Worth, just understand that now before moving to Texas and plan your home base carefully.

This is true but it is also expanding. For example, Austin has gotten so expensive the leftists are having to migrate out so they land in places like Cedar Park, which is traditionally conservative. Well, not anymore... There are some out where I live that are pretty vocal and trying to raise a stink. So far we have fought them back but its only a matter of time I believe.

                    Hay to Texas

In about 2 weeks I will be in Austin Tx. I will be there about 10 days. What are some of the places I should go to Visit. Shooting stuff and or good Hamburger places. Thanks.
I will be at the Highpointe area.

You probably missed the sticky in at the top of the CalGuns Ex-Pats forum it is all Texas restaurants. I recently updated it with a ton more from my ever expanding “list”.

For burgers in Austin here you go Black Sheep Lodge, Top Notch, Hillberts, JewBoy Burgers, Pool Burger, Crown and Anchor.

If you want a beer and burger Black Sheep Lodge or Crown and Anchor.

If you want a family Mom ‘N’ Pop burger joint with a local history of serving great burgers that Austinites love I recommend Top Notch or Hillberts.
