Bliss are really something else. I can see why alot of people call El Paso trash with the lens of the Army and Ft. Bliss on them. Once you get far away enough from the Army, you start to realize the area is great. El Paso really is a town that got too big for itself. Thats probably why they are trying to catch up with all the building.

            Settling in, Hays county Texas

Packed up and left San Francisco in June. Enjoying the Dripping Springs area, weather has been great all summer, was expecting more heat. Anyhow, looking forward to checking out the ranges around here soon and reconnecting with old friends who left Cali for Texas back when the .50 cal ban became law.

Ok. Problem with picking an area: they all look great coming from commie state.
              I love it here.

If things continue on a downward trend for San Diego and California as whole I am strongly considering fleeing to Austin, Dallas, or San Antonio, whichever I can land a tech job.

Moved to Orange, TX in May, 2018. It's about 90 miles east of Houston, spitting distance from Louisiana. A bit of culture shock after living 65 years in So Cal.
Folks out here are absolutely great, what they call traffic I laugh at, they start complaining when gas starts north of $2.00/gal. (it's currently 3.10 for 87).
The downside is the humidity, but at least I'm out of CA!!!

                      Being north of
70 has definite advantages: I was able to do all my stupid stuff before video cameras, smartphones, utube, and the internet.
