Nope. It would be fun to run into him though. I used to argue with him in the C&R forum YEARS AGO.....

Yep, sounds like him. He taught me tons! I still use the old ammo crate shooting rest he gave me. His departure permanently ruined baking for me.

Although technically, I've never BEEN to CA, much less, left it. I've never been west of San Antonio, or se MT, for that matter.

                  Awsome!
Question: If you are looking to purchase a used firearm from a private individual in your new state, do you even really need any form of ID?

Moved to Texas in late 2015 from Chico. Some there may remember me when I had my FFL--H&K Enterprises. Have attached a photo of my first AR build here. Yeah, when the dust cover opens, it reads "PLAN B".

I was going to write that this was my first build in a free state, then realized that isn't true. My first build was in what used to be California in 1993. Things were different then.

Moved to the rural parts of the Pacific Northwest in 2014 due to increasing dissatisfaction with the stranglehold the Democrats have put on everyday life in my home state of California. Life is much more satisfying now. Crime is very low, the threat of violence almost non existent. No more gangs, graffiti and trash everywhere. I can still surf and ski on the same day in uncrowded conditions.

Leaving California was not an easy decision to make but once we decided to join the growing exodus, it became apparent the it was the best decision we could have ever made. If California would go hard on crime, crack down on illegal aliens and cut all the grotesque regulations that stifle everyday life, we might come back but I am convinced conditions in California will continue to deteriorate before any improvements come.

It is amazing to me how many people are leaving California because they are fed up with the deteriorating quality of life under majority Democrat Party rule. California is still a beautiful place with many wonderful and very hard working people but the negative impact on daily life due to the leftists in power has become too much to bear leading more and more people to leave the once great State of California.

When I come to visit friends in my old hometown, they all confide in me their growing alarm at the deterioration in quality of life. Many are making plans to get out at some point. Some feel stuck and unable to leave for a variety of reasons but it is interesting how nearly everyone is talking about the decline that surrounds them and all are eager to hear from me what it's like living in a free state.

Wife and I are in the initial stages of moving to Oklahoma. I've got family there so it's not like we're completely alone, also have an aunt who drives up regularly from Louisiana to visit said Oklahoma family. While some current "fleeing" expats seem to be patting themselves on the back for hitting free state territory in Nevada and the PNW, those states are seemingly in danger of contracting the California Common Sense Abatement Syndrome. Nope, we're headed to where there's a better firewall. it is a little worrisome though that the state to the south of Oklahoma can't even get constitutional carry passed all while being held out as the preeminent state for RKBA. Probably why we were told by folks in Oklahoma, "Welcome! Unless you're from Texas....then get the hell out." We thought it was strange too.....

Nevada.... maybe not far enough, but I need to rake it in as much as possible in CA before calling it quits. Not ruling out going farther away after the big "R".
