I was wondering how you guys deal with " that guy" at the range or blm, wears a plate carrier and gear at the range. Doesn't support the wars, but has a opinion on everything. Mil spec isn't good enough must have the latest and greatest from magpul.

Being in the service, I just sit back and let them self destruct.

thankfully I have ear plugs and there is a lot of loud noise... so conversation opportunities are somewhat limited with these people.

You don't have to be for the wars or prior military to wear that stuff. If they are actually training and learning stuff, I don't mind it. But if they're grossly overweight and clearly have no clue what they're doing, then it annoys me. I get more annoyed (maybe just curious) when Vets wear as much military stuff as possible to parade around their service.

Same here, I guess it depends on when you go to the range.

It's not mall ninjas so much as it is guys with large caliber (.50, slug shotgun rounds, etc.) firearms that clearly rarely shoot anything and simply try and blast the target off the hangers.

Last time I was at blm, there was a mall ninja with an ar15 decked out with all sorts of accessories. He was aiming at a 10-12" target 35 feet in front of him, and could not hit it. That made all my misses of the day feel like hits.

It's not really cool to judge someone for donning a carrier or rig. It's acceptable on BLM, IMO. A bit weird at the range.

But the moment they open their mouths and starting spewing bs..

I am totally fine with issued stuff like the OEM buttstock, the KAC quad rail blah blah and I hear from guys on forums and Facebook etc all about how you really need a free float man blah blah, because that extra 2% accuracy is really going to matter.... for punching paper? So, who really cares if some guy wants to spend his money on the latest and greatest gear and equipment? As long as he isn't shooting us right? The only thing I find annoying is guys with no experience, usually civilian, over-hyping their rifle or gear etc, 'man you need this tungsten magnesium recoil rod with Chrome hippo leather barrel and 30" free float handguard with PMAG keyhole grenade attachment" ....

I thought my EOTech was nice. lol

So you think being in the service makes you better than them? I have a lot of friends that are veterans that are very similar at what you just described. Why do you care? Mind your own business or GTFO. You are freaking reservist for crying out loud.
