I was wondering how you guys deal with " that guy" at the range or blm, wears a plate carrier and gear at the range. Doesn't support the wars, but has a opinion on everything. Mil spec isn't good enough must have the latest and greatest from magpul.

Being in the service, I just sit back and let them self destruct.

ETA: Speaking of Mall Ninjas, I watched that show Militia Rising the other day. I couldn't stop cringing.

Nice, polite, engage in as little conversation as possible. Smile and walk away...wow look at the time, I gotta go...nice to meet ya.

But I haven't run into a lot if mall ninjas, except at the mall.

Theres a guy at my church who can never stop bragging or trying to make himself sound cool. Goes into stories about how he rode bulls, rides motorcycles, trains horses, is an adrenaline junkie...etc without warning. It gets old real fast but again, live and let live. If he tries to start 'dominating' a conversation by being too alpha Ill take him down a notch but otherwise I just ignore it.

Ive never gone shooting with him but Id be very surprised if hes not a mall ninja

I'm with you, except for the mag/clip thingy. That drives me nuts. And after having someone shoot at the target next to me when I was changing mine out on a cold range, I wouldn't mind wearing my plate carrier too.

Blatantly start picking your nose with one hand while fondling your belly button with the other if they try sparking up some conversation. People tend to notice things like that. Then ask them if you can fire a few rounds with their firearm. I'm sure that will be the last time they will approach you. Nobody wants your funk all over their weapons. (Of course I'm totally joking.....or am I?) I'd personally feel better wearing my plate carrier in an outdoor range setting. If some idiot happens to get careless. It only takes one pull of the trigger to have an unexpected incident. Some unnecessary protection is better than no protection. Just my two cents.

Out in BLM this past weekend and i saw a guy wearing body armor and a fluorescent vest typically worn by school crossing guards. His firearms are all decked out on a firing bench.
I thought wow he's ready and serious with all that armor and florescent top as i drove to my spot. I got out of my vehicle and then I heard a zing go past my location. Now I'm wishing I had his body armor and all his decked out guns,... plus I wouldn't mind wearing that florescent vest either.
