Anyone here carry an automatic knife while in uniform? I am thinking of carrying one as a EDC, but not sure if my base will allow it.

Carrying automatic knives for duty?

I carried a benchmade infidel, had no problems and the higher ups didnt care. I just never took it out off duty. -
My father had one in his flight suit when he was in the Air Force. He had it attached to a piece of parachute cord and that was tied to the zipper or something, but I remember him telling me that as long as it stayed on the cord it was a piece of his uniform.
Now I understand why that was so. I think as long as you had it cleared it should be okay.7 Billion people on the planet. They aint ALL gonna astronauts. Some will get hit by trains...

I have something like this from Emerson.
The little hook on the top of the blade allows me to deploy the blade upon drawing it from the pocket. So if one wants, the blade can be unfolded the moment it clears the pocket. Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.Comment

That's what I do with this double-action auto knife... exact same left-inner-thigh pocket your dad carried in. If I ever have an issue with carrying it, I'll just give it to the PR shop and have them assign it to my Airsave vest as official gear.

When I was in Auto knives were good to go just check with your chain of command and dont carry it off base just to be on the safe side.In memory of Ricky Lee Turner, January 16th 2009 Baghdad Iraq

Your rangemaster got it right. Things can get sticky if you don't follow the laws you're charged with enforcing....................If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.Comment
