    good ol' field chow!

nothing like a great meal for the first day of AT, a big FU! Seriously, this is the worst plate of chow I have ever had in the military (both active and guard) in 8 years...

Marines would eat that, looks better than what we get in the field, chow hall and overseas.

hahah ^^^^ i was thinking the same thing. hot wets were the worst thing i ever had to consume in the Corps, and sometimes that was our meal. that actually looks nice.

I'd take that over 12 months of MREs any day, especially that orange. It can always be worse man!

Yup, I've had worse. Once was served clam chowder with our dinner chow, 4 hours late because they couldn't find us (another time they never found us and we had MREs instead) and the chowder was luke warm and tasted like they soaked some latex gloves or something like that, totally inedible.

Although, sometimes the food tastes fantastic but still destroys you. I bought a roticery chicken from a street vendor in Iraq, never had problems with the food previously, tasted awesome, gave my the most horrific explosive diarrhea for 3 weeks. Nothing like waking up to crapping your pants as you are sleeping in a chair waiting to go home for your two weeks of leave, or having sex with your woman and having to stop to use the bathroom so you don't crap all over.

Didn't stop me from still eating local food after I got back from leave, and I didn't have any problems afterwards either.

Kabobs gave me horrible ****s the first time but after that I was good. It was awesome eating actual meat instead of MREs for a change.

Nobody mentioned the joy of C-rations and the "B-2 Unit" -- your eggs look 100x better than canned "scrambled eggs & ham" that had to be worried out of an OD can with a P-38.

i'd take an MRE over that meal anyday. That brown slop was supposed to be some kind of oatmeal infused with fruit pieces....

Totally agree with you on the street food. I eat food from vendors every time I go to China since it's so damn cheap ($1US can get you 3 beef kabobs) and without fail I get sick. F it though, stuff is delicious

I sorta liked the 'Hot Dog' MRE that had 4 petrified weiners slathered in white grease.
