If not then I wouldnt worry about waivers.
Pretty much true. Don't forget history of asthma (especially after childhood) and history of ever taking a mood-altering medication such as an antidepressant or anxiolytic.

Tattoo waiver is no big deal. Others may require a lot of time and out-of-pocket expenses.

I've been pretty lucky health wise. Only type of injury was third degree burns on my right thigh when I was 9 or so (an air force guy lit me on fire accidentally go figure ) but no disfigurement can't even see scars or anything. Other than that no asthma or meds. Sounds like I just gotta keep the grades up, stay healthy, get in better shape, and have a little luck and then it all might work for me!

I have been thinking about OCC for quite a while now, I graduate spring 2013. Not looking to get into any type of fancy pants programs that are extremely hard to get into, the only path I'd like to take is an Infantry officer, if I had the PFT scores I wonder if this would give me a better chance?. Although discouraging, thanks for saying the truth about current PFT scores as this is what concerns me the most about the whole process.

          OP, good luck.

There is no guarantee of what MOS you will receive as an officer. The Marine Corps more or less will choose it for you depending on how well you perform at The Basic School.

Yes but, isn't there some programs that are very difficult to get into? at least that's what I've been told.

What do you mean by programs? Every Marine officer goes through TBS after graduating OCS and will compete with each other for the allotted slots for each MOS.

Some MOS's are more difficult to obtain due to the low number of slots available. Human Intelligence is one example.

Oh ok, ya there was a chart somewhere on the internet that had a breakdown of all the MOS's available and the average amount of slots per class. I think infantry had the most slots if I remember correctly. It really just breaks down to where you place in the class and whats available, so there really isnt a guarantee you will get what you want. Infantry is what I would like as well so I am keeping my fingers crossed and gonna work my tail off to get it.

Generally I've heard your MOS is determined by 3 things: Needs of the service, class standing, and Preference in that order.

I agree with reading this book. I am looking at getting my Commission through the Guard as I have already done my Active Service. This book will bring new light to you. Plus its a really good read.

We were the last boat to carry this flag in the original tradition. Now every boat carries it.The tradition is lost.

Sound like pretty good odds for me at infantry then.

That's true, but IIRC TBS is smart is by spreading the "wealth" otherwise we'd end up with all the hard chargers in the sexy billets (Infantry, Armor, Aviation) and no one in Comms. So they will pick by the class ranking list, however, it will be spread load so for example if #1 in your TBS class picks infantry, no one else can pick infantry until ALL the other officer MOS's get to pick. Like a draft.

When I first commissioned I had buddies engaging in all sorts of horse trading (e.g. failing some tests/evals to drop "draft round"), but the consensus is to do your best and you can still swap around MOS's with your classmates to make things work right after. The only way to guarantee what you want is to be #1 (like in life) or get an aviation contract (if you want to fly)

I'm pretty sure you are all guys on this post, but anyone know of the chances for women going into the Marine Officer Program? Just wondering, because this is a path I a seriously considering...
