Your recruiter will have all of the information you need. The "street wisdom" is that recruiters can't be trusted, and I suppose that a small minority of them may be a little less than scrupulous when it comes to getting folks to sign on the dotted line, but believe me, your recruiter has a vested interest in your successfuly completing recruit training. You can trust your recruiter to get you prepared for bootcamp. When I went to boot camp in '91 at Parris Island and OCS in '98 in Quantico, the only things I brought with me were my Bible and a little address book, everything else on my person (cloths, wallet etc...) were bagged up and stored until graduation day. Congratulations and good luck. Just do exactly what your Drill Instructors say as fast and as acurately as you can, help out your fellow recruits and you will be fine.

I'm actually starting Navy OCS on Sunday here in Newport, RI and they told us toiletries, running shoes, 10 pair of white briefs, 3 packs of white crew socks, a white towel and a white washcloth. Extras would be a cell phone (confiscated until week 9), battery operated non-radio alarm clock (taken until week 4), wrist watch (week 4 as well) annnnddddd ... yeah that's about it. Everything else we'll be buying.

This list is going to change depending on what branch you are in, keep this in mind.
