    Army schools

So I was just asked to make a list of schools I would like to go to when we get back from this deployment. I am trying to go to airborne, but other than that I really don't have any ideas. My buddy said there is a long range marksmanship school (not sniper school), I'm not sure if that is the exact name but it sounds cool. I would like to know what you guys recomend. Thanks.

It would all depend on your MOS.

Im a scout, off the top of my head the schools I would ask for are:

        Air Assault
        Pathfinder
        RSLC
        Sniper

I agree with the three above.

The school you are asking about is Squad Designated Markman (SDM). Also, it sounds like you are lower enlisted, get WLC as soon as you can.

This is probably what I would ask for also. Long Range Marksmanship is supposed to be pretty good. My section sgt. went through it a few years ago.

Can you get that as a scout?

I talked to my 1sgt today about reclassing to 19D. He said he will make sure it happens. Hopefully a few months after I get back from Iraq I'll be going through AIT again.

Would you be going through the 19D course with all the OSUT guys, or do they have a separate MOSQ course for prior service?

Make sure that you are up to par before you arrive. We had a lot of failures when I went through.

Probably not, but it would be cool if you could.
