I doubt it. If they are, the state AG should be aware of them.

If they are not legit, the state AG should definately be aware of them. You might want to drop a dime.
"Did I say "republic?" By God, yes, I said "republic!" Long live the glorious republic of the United States of America. Damn democracy. It is a fraudulent term used, often by ignorant persons but no less often by intellectual fakers, to describe an infamous mixture of socialism, miscegenation, graft, confiscation of property and denial of personal rights to individuals whose virtuous principles make them offensive." - Westbrook Pegler

Really weird. I didn't know about the CSMR until I got out of the regulars and joined the guard, so I'm sure there is all kinds of stuff out there that is a mystery to me. Things get more and more surreal as you crawl into the catacombs of authorized and semi authorized part time support organizations. It still kind of freaks me out to see people walking around in ACUs with "CALIFORNIA" in the place of "U.S. ARMY" on their name tapes.
What do you mean my birth certificate expired?

At least we're a part of the state, as opposed to these guys who are wearing US Army tapes and have NO ties to any military...strange.

I'm not knocking it, I'm just saying that I did a double take when I saw the "CALIFORNIA" name tape. These guys however seem to have only recently been formed. Their website seems to have been written by someone without a strong grasp of English. I wonder if they go to any semblance of basic training.

Like...am I supposed to have as much respect for that 1SG as I would a real one? How is one supposed to tell the difference by looking at his uniform?

I remember dealing with the NY Guard once, I guess an equivilant of the group you are with Capo, from what I could tell they were mostly retired individuals who still wanted to help out. I'm not sure what they actually did but I guess they were there to help us get ready to head down to NYC to do a security mission. The only issue I had with them was this one female who was rocking the CIB, yeah I wanted to cut it right off of her uniform.

Those references to putting young people in the Guard, "consulting", and other aspects make me suspect it is a money making fraud. This probably should be pushed up to AG.

The site seems to be geared towards Chinese (the location in Monterey Park points that way too, if Chinese characters weren't enough of a hint).

The "authorized by the State of California" part reminds me of the scams run in L.A. The "authorization" is there, alright, but it may be the authorization to collect sales tax for all I know.

I'd notify the authorities. If it's legit, then it's legit, no harm done.
